Of Those Things We Seldom Appreciate
Oh how well we groom them in this city. I’ve seen the growth, peak, and dissipation of more bands than I can count in this Cincinnati (my band was no exception). It seems that we somehow create a buzz, ride it while it’s hot, and fizzle into fond memories a couple years later. I guess it’s either that or move to a bigger market (Chicago, Denver, Austin, New York, Cali, etc)....
This is our city, a place of histories buried underneath cobblestone-covered loam, at the edge of progress, and inevitable regress. We wallow in sister-city envy, clutching chalices half-filled with a need to run far far away, and a barely audible pride.
